E.W. MILES MS LPP STUDENTS RECEIVE MASSAPEQUA CENTER - REHABILITATION & NURSING" VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD 2018"!!!!

Last Updated: April 25, 2018

Congratulations to the LPP students at E.W. Miles Middle School for receiving the "top" award of VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the Massapequa Center (formerly known as Broadlawn Manor).  We are so proud of our students who have been attending various programs at the center for the past few years.  To name a few, the students assist the residents during Bingo, help them shop at the mall and have attended "field trips" with them to Jones Beach and White Post Farms.

There are so many different learning opportunities for the students while at the Center.  They are educated on the many employment opportunities that are available and are able to witness these positions in action.  They also bring such joy to the residents and in turn receive mentorship from them.  They each form special bonds and look forward to their next encounters with each other.

The students and staff, led by Debbie O'Rourke, are so honored to receive this award.  We thank the Massapequa Center for allowing our students to have this experience and recognizing them for their service!
